Another tale of Porlock

Once upon a time, many years ago, in 1955 to be precise, my parents did a cycling tour of the south west.  Two newly-married PE teachers from Manchester,  they wanted to raise a family, but not in the smoke and grime of Manchester.

There is a sort of blog, which in those days was called a photograph album.

Illustrated (with white ink) by my Dad.

I guess this was on the main A39 road in those days.  They were carrying all their luggage in saddlebags, staying in B&Bs.   And their bikes had just three gears, Sturmey-Archer hub gears.

Not much changes in the world of bike touring.
